At the meeting, it was suggested that we start planning NOW for a Conconully fall run. So here's a new thread!

The weekend we're looking at is September 16th, 17th, and 18th.

Reserve your camping spot early!

The dates were on the calender but now have disappeared, I like that week as there will not be holiday traffic.

Some people were discussing Labor Day weekend instead, as I know at least Dave and Steve will be there.

I was going to go as well, but forgot I'll just be coming back from Tahiti/Cook Islands  the week before.

16-18 might work for me, but I wont know until it gets closer.

I am more for 16th 17 and 18th because Cozy Cabins is booked meaning lots of strangers at the camp if you can even get in.

I like when we all show up and have a good time and I know Mike and Bob, Phil Nigh and a few others are planning this weekend.

Anyway my 10 cents worth.

I'm up for the 16th-18th. Will call tomorrow and see if I can reserve a spot and find out how many are available for that weekend.

Avoiding a busy holiday weekend sounds like a good plan to me.

Ha ha as if I wanted #14. Being right next to the firepit means having to listen to drunken ne'er do wells until the wee hours.

I got slot #5, which is the one you were in.

Are folks planning a full day of riding on Friday, or is that a travel day. I need to put in for vacation time at work and want to maximize the riding time. Not sure if I should head over on Thursday evening after work and head home on Sunday or head over Friday evening and return on Monday. Any thoughts?

What usually happens is that some folks head up Thursday and ride in the morning on Friday, while others leave at 0:dark:30 on Friday and go riding in the afternoon.

For myself, I am planning to leave Friday morning and will probably do a short ride in the afternoon. I plan to stay over Sunday evening and head back on Monday morning.

It has always been my impression that these rides are sort of casual, play it by ear rides. However, after the last one, I got some feedback that some folks would have liked better organization regarding when the rides would be happening, where those rides would be going, exactly when and where the BBQ would be happening, etc.

I have a couple of good ride routes that I can lead people on. One is a high road north of town, and one is a lower road west of town. Both involve some trails and some service roads, and both are entertaining rides that are not too difficult but will keep you interested.

I am happy to put forth some effort to organize things, but don't want to be seen as trying to be in charge and control the actions of others, who might not want that.

So let's have some forum activity on that subject. Who wants to leave it loose? Who wants things to be organized?
