Lurker #2, Hi I'm Dale from Olympia. I'm 49yo Retired Special Forces, Single but seeing my ex-wife (Another Story), new to the sport and working in Afghanistan until 1 June. Found your site a couple of days ago while researching riding areas and all the rules. Hope SB 5366 passes next year. Anyway I have a 650 and 700 Prowler XTX. An Arctic Cat 650 4x4 and a Can Am 800. Got into this through an ex girlfriends brother (got rid of the girlfriend but kept the brother) with his Rhino. Rode once and was hooked. Sitting over here in the desert with not a lot to do as I wind down this contract I have been searching the web and really got intrested in longer rides. I've been researching the WBCDR (Wa Back Country Discovery Route) and OBCDR. Any idea if that will ever be open to Quads? I have found a couple of epic routes in Idaho and the trip report from a guy who rode 5000 miles from Reno to the Canadin border then to Sturgis and back to Reno. I'd love to do a trip like that. I see that a lot of you are headed over to Conconully at the end of May and unfortunately wont be back in time to make that trip. Sounds like fun and the pictures are incredible! Grew up hiking the Back Country of the Olympics but gettin older and have done all the hiking I care too! Thank you very much!! Can't think of a better way to meet people and see the most beautiful parts of Washington State then on the back of a Quad. My significant other Kelly is a street biker and I haven't had a chance to get her on a quad yet. Hope she likes it. Will be doing day trips to Capital Forest when I get back. At least for a first month as I have a 2 1/2 year back log of things to do around my place. Well I guess that is all for now. Hope to see some of you on the trails down the road.

Greetings and welcome!

I've been wanting to do an extended multi-day trip as well. If you find that epic route in Idaho, I could be your partner on that trip.

There's a guy who is about to start a 4800-mile trip along the "Trans-America Trail" in a Polaris RZR. Check it out here: http://www.rzrforums.net/utv-inc/41...erica.html

Scoundrel, I don't think I'd be up for a 4800 mile trip this year but some time in July or Aug there is a trail that loops from Darby MT counter clockwise almost to the Washington border through Idaho. It's about 800 miles and should be doable in 5 or 6 days. 7 would be great. As I'm still not home yet I'll have to get back to you on this one. I don't know if I will want to do this in one of the SXSs or on the Quads. Depends on the other half and how into this she is going to be. I'm still in the planning stage and might see if I can swing this on the end of the Jamboree in Idaho. Doesn't have to start in Darby. If you are intrested in looking at this trail it is posted on the Fabcraft Website http://www.fabcraft.com/index.php in the Photo Gallery

I'm definitely not up for the 4800 mile run anytime soon either.

I'm planning to do the Jamboree in Wallace this year. Not sure I can swing another 5-7 days on top of that.

Would most likely be up for an 800-mile run in the fall though.

The 800 mile ride out of Darby sounds like a great ride. Last year we rode some of those trails out of Elk City Idaho, what we rode was mostly ATV trails. Seems like there is always snow on the pass's.
